The Cangrejo Hybrids are led by fierce warrior chieftan Maryana Langclaw and High Blightspeaker Hermosa, powerful mutants that appear more alien than human. Maryana has a crab-like morphology, while Hermosa is a behemoth Orixa shaman that uses her psychic powers to soothe minds. The psychic empath has taken steps to breach the divide between Symbiotic Seablight and unblighted humans by establishing trade with neighbouring human settlements, and directing Longclaw’s raids towards the Despertado and Tyde Kyndrid.

The Cangrejo Hybrids are masters of organic guerilla warfare. They use their multitude of physical forms to attack convoys and patrols in unorthodox ways. They can swim swiftly underwater, tunnel through earth, and swoop from the sky. These blighted pyrates have hardened skin, dagger-sharp appendages, wings, tentacles, and other mutations. While capable and dangerous, under Hermosa’s rule the Hybrid’s are content to ignore Antilles politics so long as they are left undisturbed.

The Cangrejo Hybrids share a common cause with the Yucatán Flotilla in fighting the Blighted Tribes that infest Tainos Supremo, particularly the Despertado. They are suspicious of the Ahuizotl, and despise the Skullrievers.
