Armed with scientific acumen, Ancestor technologies, an advanced Local Conscious Array Droplet (LCAD), and a hefty supply of Saviour Flame, the Yucatán Flotilla is a Pyrate Republic faction driven to rejuvenate the coral reefs, islands, beaches, rivers, lakes, and mainland jungles ruined by the Seablight Deluge and Century of Deconstruction.
Yucatán Flotilla
The Yucatán Flotilla is governed by the Consejo Coralino Research Administration, a group of impassioned scientists and eco-warriors that seek to reclaim the Yucatán Peninsula and Tainos Supremo. The Consejo Coralino is chaired by Cronometrador Rebeca Rejón-Ruén and advised by the Chicxulub Data Diver LCAD.
The Yucatán Flotilla was formed in the late 2390s CE when the Consejo Coralino emerged from the Chicxulub Deep Sea Habitat (CDSH).
The Flotilla has quickly and efficiently expanded its surface and underwater territory.
They have established Ambergris Caye, Bosque Fresco, and Puerto Cortez on the Yucatán Peninsula, converting blighted land into lush green paradise, and have begun construction of the Geotermia sub-surface habitat.
Underwater Origins
The advanced sub-nautical CDSH crater base was built off the Northern coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the mid-22nd Century to investigate the Chicxulkub asteroid crater for scientific and commercial outcomes. The CDSH project was jointly owned by the Rejón-Ruén dynasty, Permax Natural Resources Company, and the Yucatán Facility for Scientific Examination. Together they formed the Consejo Coralino Research Administration.
When Psychezoa was discovered on 16 Psyche in 2314 CE, the council advocated and lobbied for its immediate destruction. Their warnings were ignored.
At the onset of the Seablight Deluge, the Consejo Coralino created a perimeter of protection around the habitat. Their efforts succeeded, and the CDSH Safe Zone is now an underwater protective ring that encircles the perimeter formed by the original asteroid impact.
Military Capabilities
The Yucatán Flotilla can strike without warning using submarines, amphibious surface vessels, and by harnessing Seablight-enhanced marine life. Their actions are often prescient and some claim the Consejo Coralino have advanced LCAD sensors, psychic mutant powers, or secret knowledge stored in the CDSH Esfera Del Tiempo chamber. The Yucatán Flotilla skirmished with South Antilles pyrates for several decades, before reluctantly joining the Pyrate Republic in 2460 CE. The Flotilla has recently expanded its operations into Tainos Supremo’s Southern coastline with the blessings of Governor-Captain Blakbard and the Rock Coast Broeders, and has established the port of Nueva Cuba.
Survival and Advancement
The Consejo Coralino swears fealty to the Pyrate Republic in public as a matter of survival. Behind closed doors, Cronometrador Rebeca Rejón-Ruén ensures the Chicxulub Data Diver LCAD contributes data to the Transatlantica Climate Restoration Coalition and supports global efforts to eradicate Seablight. The LCAD provides valuable data to the Coalition network from its numerous sensors embedded beneath the ocean and across the Yucatán Peninsula.
Their rejuvenation mission faces threats from within. The Chicxulub Data Diver has started to act erratically and communicate cryptically with the Consejo Coralino. Some leaders based in Bosque Fresco have become infected by Madre Hyve dreaming spores. Lucid dreams with ‘Uītzilōpōzlix the Feathered Dream Serpent’ have led them to believe that the greatest danger to Earth is paradoxically hidden within the Chicxulkub asteroid crater that struck Earth 66 million years ago. Confusion, mistrust, and rising tensions within the Consejo Coralino are disrupting strategies and re-forming allegiances.
