The War of the Mexicano Succession has attracted an influx of skilled privateers into the Antilles Archipelago. These sea and air-based mercenaries arrive from the ìmpireachd na h-Alba (Scottish Empire), Federação do Portugal, Brasil, e Angola (Portrasila), Imperio Eterno de Mexico, Nuropa-Auterietet, and Iwọ̀ Oòrùn Alkebulan ìṣọ̀kan (Alkebulan) in search of plunder.
Privateers provided a Letter of Marque by the Hopesail Confederacy use Freeport, Andros, Key West, and Palmless Beach as safe harbours to attack Pyrate Republic, Blighted Tribes, and Portrasila trade convoys. In response, Portrasila issues Letters of Marque to competing privateers to hunt Hopesail Confederacy vessels as well as rival privateer fleets.
It is not uncommon for privateers to gain a reputation for switching sides. Cut-throat privateers remain in-demand by major factions unwilling to risk their own precious assets in deadly combat.
