The Cibernetix Legión is a powerful Pyrate Republic faction based in Pòtoprens, West Empresario. They specialise in advanced multi-domain military technologies and coordinated battle space tactics designed to capture vessels and outposts.
The Legión has recently expanded into Tainos Supremo, capturing Puerto Madre and ransacking Calbrien. It’s now extending its raids further North into Hopesail Confederacy atolls and Free Trade Charter House convoys.
Cibernetix Legión
In the early 25th Century Pòtoprens was controlled by a United Constitutional Concordant (UCC) Intervention Task Force undertaking post-Seablight Deluge occupation. In 2437 CE two native Empresario military commanders advising the UCC, the Nguema brothers, instigated a coup and took control of the advanced SkyLance Chucilla Oscura. The vessel provided the brothers with aerial superiority, and the UCC withdrew from the island.
The Cibernetix Legión’s current leader, Mansa-Faama Teodoro Nguema, is a peerless ciber-enhanced warrior and skilled diplomat. He is also a deep thinker and philosopher, and is able to discuss a diverse range of topics with merchants and emissaries alike. His command and respect in the Pòtoprens Fowòm is absolute and unquestioned.
The Legión’s elite assault troops, the disciplined Seaturions, are feared for their speed, agility, deep strike capabilities, and deadly armaments. Seaturions are trained through relentless conditioning and drilling from a young age in cohorts of 100 alarinrin. Proven recruits are ciber-enhanced after their 20th Rotation, joining the main force of eru ẹlẹsẹ. The oldest and strongest Seaturions are the heavily armed and armoured gbajumo ẹlẹsẹ, who become landowners and mentors. Empowering the Seaturions are the augmentation chop-shops, bio-mechanical trade markets, superconductor factories, and cybernetic integration experts located in Pòtoprens
Unique to the Cibernetix Legión is the Iwọ̀ Oòrùn Alkebulan ìṣọ̀kan (Alkebulan) mobile trade station Olokun that conspicuously hovers above the Pòtoprens seaport. The dual hydrocarbon and Lampshade Accelerator powered trade platform arrived in Pòtoprens in 2454 CE following negotiations between Mansa-Faama Nguema and the West Africa Empire’s rulers.
The Olokun is an advanced Ancestor structure that provides the Legión with significant material support, specialised cibernetic services, training opportunities, and access to the Gran Mèt Local Conscious Array Droplet (LCAD).
The Legión’s military forces are counter-balanced by a political council, the Sena, comprised of landed oligarchs that debate philosophy in the Pòtoprens Fowòm.
Teodoro Nguema initially co-ruled the Legion as the spiritual ‘Faama’ head of the Sena alongside his older brother Jawara, the Legión’s military ‘Mansa’. In 2453 CE the brothers had a violent disagreement, leading to a duel and Jawara’s death. Victorious, Teodoro combined the titles Mansa-Faama to solely rule the Legión’s military, political, and cultural domains.
Mansa-Faama Teodoro’s ambitions go beyond Pòtoprens and Tainos Supremo. He seeks to eliminate the Masqued Guildas and unite Empresario under his rule. This difficult goal remains a dream, for now.
Despite his bloody past, the warlord believes in the power of conversation, an ideal that resonated with Governor-Captain Blakbard and his vision for a united Southern Antilles. Their conversations led to the Pyrate Republic’s foundation in 2455 CE. Teodoro’s personal imperial ambitions have an important role to play in the rapidly changing geo-political tapestry of an Antilles Archipelago in chaos.
2465 CE: Mansa-Faama Teodoro Nguema consults with the Gran Mèt Local Conscious Array Droplet (LCAD) to determine his next military strategy. Based on the LCAD’s advice, the Cibernetix Legión heads North to blockade and sack the independent Tainos Supremo port of Calbrien. The blockade and siege takes several weeks. The Legión’s Seaturions are at the forefront of the battle, taking heavy casualties as they decapitate heavy defence emplacements. Mansa-Faama Teodoro Nguema’s advanced cibernetics enable him to leap directly into the final pocket of resistance in a bloody assault, supported by a swarm of aerial scout and attack drones. Calbrien’s population is now enslaved by the Cibernetix Legión, and its structures are in the process of being recycled for the Pòtoprens techno-industrial forges.
