After seven Rotations of organic growth, when the Madre Hyve El Casco has swollen with power, a psychic pulse is blasted across the Tyde Kyndrid Blighted Tribe. The pulse is supported by the rhythmic beating of skin drums. Mutant Kongregans and Blighters respond by converging on Tainos Supremo’s Western shore, which has formed an organic beach of twisting crimson flesh.
The Procession of the Three Tydes is nigh.
Procession of the Three Tydes
The First Tyde:The Wave of Summoning
The First Tyde commences with a wave of red and yellow Seablight tentacles rippling out from El Casco. The crimson waters swell and surge, carrying secrets from both the deep sea and distant stars.
High Blightspeaker La Almirante emerges from a tentacled throne to greet the gathered Kongresses. He proclaims the First Tyde and Wave of Summoning by calling forth a dense Seablight Swarm. Creatures ranging in size from gnats and drones to lumbering beasts emerge from the sea and engulf the shoreline.
The summoning is an awe-inspiring, if not ominous, experience. Some Kongregan are consumed by the swarm. The strongest Kongregans will instead prey on the fresh Seablight harvest.
The surviving Kongregan engage in a symphony of ecstatic rituals in preparation for the Second Tyde.
The Second Tyde: The Wave of Carnaval
As the sun dips below the horizon and the light of the moon takes its place on the Second Tyde, a makeshift mutant carnival springs forth on a fleshy beach.
The survivors of the First Tyde repurpose the rusted husks of Ancestor vessels into twisted rides, amusements, and arenas. Salvaged skrap materials are transformed into grotesque attractions that promise thrills of a peculiar nature. Skin drums begin to beat in unison, setting a rhythm that matches the pulsating heart of the towering El Casco.
With a commanding gesture, La Almirante initiates the Desfile of Worthy Blighters.
Manic Kongregan and Blighters shamble forward, their steps guided by a primal impulse that taps within their veins. They form a procession that meanders along the shoreline. They dance with frenzied abandon, twirling and gyrating in a trance. The procession makes its way towards the beached El Casco. These supplicants are plucked from the beach by a tendril and consumed within the floating biomass. The ecastatic revel continues until the next Tyde.
The Third Tyde: The Wave of Awakening
As the moon rises and the Third Tyde approaches, a sense of solemn reverence and foreboding envelops the Tyde Kyndrid Kongresses.
When the moon reaches its zenith, a deafening silence descends, only punctuated by the distant murmur of the restless sea and the howling winds that sweep through the skrap-strewn and biomass covered expanse of Western Tainos Supremo.
Awakened Blighters begin to emerge from the organic sea, a ghastly procession of chitin-skinned and tentacled maritime mutants. The crowd kneels in awe before these Enlightened Worthies. As the final Awakened return from El Casco’s bosom, the biomass-covered sea ripples and then cascades. The Terror of the Tydes arises.
The Terror of the Tydes is an Apex Seablight Entity that defies the boundaries of mortal comprehension. Towering and monstrous, this champion of the Tyde Kyndrid embodies the power of Parasitic Seablight psychic-enhanced mutations. Its red eyes ablaze with an uncanny radiance, the Terror surveys the assembled Kongresses—an audience that is both captivated and awestruck by its sheer presence. Its looks to High Blightspeaker La Almirante an El Casco, and a psychic dialogue passes between them.
The Terror of the Tyde’s time on this plane is limited. Its body already atrophies. It knows a fresh Terror will be summoned to replace its eventual doom. El Casco and High Blightspeaker La Almirante direct the Terror to cause maximum strategic damage to their many foes.
The Terror submerges beneath the dark crimson waves. Frenzied Kongregans board their lanchas and shepherd Awakened Blighters into organic transports.
The Great Expedition has begun.
