The Tortuga is a multi-purpose science submarine commanded by the Yucatán Flotilla. The Tortuga is one of the most powerful known functional underwater warships operational in the Gulf de Mexico after Seablight’s planetfall. The Tortuga was recovered in the shallow waters of Emerald Harbour before being quickly retrofitted with dual shock-turrets to repel blight-based attacks. Moving between Bosque Fresco and the Chicxulub Deep Sea Habitat, the Tortuga regularly undertakes expeditions to survey the water ways surrounding Chezmul Bay. The Yucatán Flotilla uses this information to predict future blight growth rates and attack blighted hyve spawn sites.
