The Antilles Archipelago has witnessed many Pyrate Republic fleets and warbands since the Seablight Deluge, but none are as feared as the legendary Malvada Armada.
The Malvada Armada is led by the ruthless duo Yulieski Gamboa and his formidable partner Maonoex Cariño, the beloved of Plaza de la Revolución. Together they are known as El Capitáns Gran Diablo y Pequeño Ángel.
The Armada is based in the heavily fortified Tainos Supremo port Habaguanex, a bustling slave market and hub for privateering, smuggling, and Atizan troupes.
The Malvada Armada has expanded across the Southern Antilles in 15 years of conquest.
In recent years the Malvada Armada has secured the Alcazar mountain fortress in Eastern Tainos Supremo, as well as the South Tainos Supremo island enclave of Juventad. Pequeño Ángel led the ransacking of the coastal outpost of Kàan Kun, after it had already been plundered by the Ahuizotl Blighted Tribe in 2456 CE.
In addition, the Malvada Armada controls the Ancestor-built Skarabayo 15 and 19 hydrocarbon rigs West of Tainos Supremo that provide essential fuels for vessels.
Gran Diablo commands the Guerraro De Asalato, an elite jump-pack-powered vessel and atoll assault company. Pequeño Ángel is a cool-headed sea captain that commands the respect of her crews. Together Gran Diablo y Pequeño Ángel are said to have plundered more ships, sacked more outposts, and enslaved more people than all the Pyrate Republic combined.
There have been some recent setbacks for the Malvada Armada. The island enclave of Juventud has been recently pillaged by the Cangrejo Hybrids, and Gran Diablo has been bested by the Cibernetica Legión ’s Seaturions on several occasions. His enmity towards the Legión has been tempered by the murder of its former military ruler Jawara by Mansa-Faama Teodoro Nguema.
In 2463 CE Gran Diablo y Pequeño Ángel begrudgingly joined the Pyrate Republic, agreeing to the Pyrate Code, focus attention Northwards to the Hopesail Confederacy, and not prey on their pyrate peers… too much.
Malvada Armada Fleet Composition
The bulk of the Malvada Armada consists of around 35 barco de chatarra, four missile corvettes, three SkyLance destroyers, and two floating sea bases. In addition, the fleet has a support complement of several hundred Surface Threshers and Perimeter Quadcopters, 20 cargo tenders, 10 tugs, 10 SeaSkimmers, 8 Trojons, and four oil tankerS.
The Armada’s three SkyLances are the decisive hammer of the Armada. Gran Diablo y Pequeño Ángel took control of the vessels 15 years ago when the Sindicato Empyre collapsed following its leader’s murder. The fleet’s flagship, the SkyLance Ọlọrun, is an Ancestor attack vessel and the pride of El Capitán Pequeño Ángel. Its armaments include rail guns, hypersonic glide missile turrets, and incendiary devices. El Capitán Gran Diablo commands the Magüi, a SkyLance that has been modified to act as a launch pad for the jump-pack powered Guerraro De Asalato. The third SkyLance, Eshu, is captained by Raffa del Pino. The Eshu is the operations workhorse and spearhead of most attacks, taking the most risks. Together the three SkyLances are referred to by pyrates as Trío. The SkyLances are carefully maintained by Sénior Ingeniator Learqco in the Habaguanex Foundry and Cielo Hangars.
Keeping the Armada afloat is resource-intensive, laborious, and occupies much of Gran Diablo y Pequeño Ángel’s attention. A host of capitáns, tenientes, and quartermixters are tasked with preparing ships and crew for battle. Much of the Armada’s expansion is to ensure an ongoing supply of resources to maintain hundreds of vessels. Considerable effort is made to protect the Skarabayo 15 and 19 hydrocarbon rigs, with a floating sea base and powerful vessel complement typically fixed at each location. SeaSkimmers, Surface Threshers, and Quadcopters regularly patrol the route between Habaguanex and the Skarabayos.
Threatening the Malvada Armada’s ships and logistics are brazen Tyde Kyndrid Kongresses, Seablight Entities, clandestine Cibernetica Legión attacks, and surprise Meridian Dragoon patrols sent by the Hopesail Confederacy.
