The Falcão Do Mar of the DeSouza Guilda are the Masqued Guilda’s peacekeepers and diplomats. Their emissaries board Windward Island Empresa ships to parlay with the Hopesail Confederacy, Pyrate Republic, and even Blighted Tribes.
DeSouza guilders have special dispensation to show their faces to outsiders beyond Empresario, enabling them to win the trust of factions suspicious of their intentions.
Regular visits from the white-cloaks have convinced many desperate fortress-bastions to allow the Masqued Guilds entry.
The Mascarada Cabala employs this Guilda to form treaties and ensure their enemies are preoccupied with non-Guildas rivalries. DeSouza guilders are fervent worshipers of the Canônex Cristãx O Igreja religion, and the current Blessed Primatex is said to come from their ranks. The DeSouza are also the favoured guild of the Mestre Comerciante, and are allied with the Carrcras Guilda.
The DeSouzas are relatively relaxed when it comes to following the Word of the Cabala, perhaps due to their regular contact with external factions. This can cause tension with other Guildas, who consider them weak and astray. Some seek to weaken them and usurp their lucrative trade relationships.
