ADVANCEMENT STEPS

Advancing from a Foundation Profession into a Heroic Profession involves the player undertaking one or more Advancement Steps.

A character that matches a Heroic Profession’s cultural background -and has an appropriate Foundation Profession- may then follow the necessary Advancement Steps, in consultation with the GM. These steps may involve game or campaign-based events or tasks organised by the GM. For example, an Advancement Step may involve an initiation ceremony that is led by a non-player characters (such as the Prismatic Order Grand Master; a high-ranking Nor-Tek bureaucrat; or a Kongress Hunting Party Leader) controlled by the GM.

A player seeking to advance to a Heroic Profession may discover that their character does not match the required cultural background and/or Foundation Profession(s). In such cases, Players should work with the GM to find alternative paths to match the Heroic Profession requirements. In some cases, it may be difficult, or even impossible, for a player’s character to advance into a specific Heroic Profession.
