A Blight Swarm is comprised of insect-sized creatures disgorged from a Parasitic Seablight nest or hyve. These blighted creatures fly, hop, and slither towards intruders to sting and bite them.

ATTACKS

The size of the Seablight nest or hyve determines the number of infectious stings inflicted each round. A tiny nest can sting 1D6 times per round, scaling up to a small hyve doing 8D6. The dice type may be adjusted based on the severity of the Psychezoa (1 pt. for minor irritation all the way up to D10 for vicious predatory swarms). Each character attacked by the Swarm is automatically stung the rolled number of times each combat round until they escape, deter, or destroy the swarm. A Swarm attacks for 2D6 combat rounds before giving up. Unless the targets are completely covered or enclosed there is no protection against a swarm. A Difficult Dodge roll can avoid a Swarm, or other means (such as an electromagnetic dampener) can be used to drive them away. Any protective gear the character may be wearing will reduce the number of stings per D6, with light gear reducing each die by –1, blightkeeper gear by –4, and complete covering meaning no stings whatsoever.

POWERS

Blightsense: The Swarm is controlled by a parasitic Seablight Madre Hyve.

Infectious: Swarms may be infectious with Parasitic Psychezoa. A deep bite or tunneling of claws into flesh has a 5% chance to infect a human in a number of turns equal to their CON. If inflamed sepsis occurs around the wound, players are advised to amputate or carve out as much flesh as possible around the wound before Seablight takes hold. The infected player will be transformed into a Blighter, Low Blightspeaker, or immobile cocoon-pod.
