The barco de chatarra is a class of skrap corvette common to Pyrate Republic fleets. Barco de chatarras come in various shapes, sizes, and quality, but common to most are the missile turrets that make them lethal weapons of war. Most barco de chatarra hulls are retrofitted and repaired Ancestor technology. These ships are similar to the missile frigates of the Confederacy, although with cruder weaponry and construction metrics. Some boast reinforced hulls and flame-based weaponry for navigating blighted waters, while others can barely be classified as gun boats.
